Our Mission

For the love of the game.
for the love of our team.

Our organization was created in honor of Nicholas Phillips, who passed away on May 24th, 2021 at the age of 21.

When Nick was 5 years old, he asked his mother if he could play hockey; taking the ice just six months later with the unconditional support of his parents. Things didn’t go smoothly in the beginning, but he persevered. Nick was the smallest kid on his team and unfortunately he didn’t get much playing time, so he decided to try playing as goalie. His coach put him in for the last game of the season, and though it was far from perfect, he had the biggest smile on his face and said “I’m a goalie for life!” True to his word, Nick continued as a goalie for the remainder of his life.

As Nick progressed through life he sought out individuals who seemed like they just needed a friend. His goal was to brighten every day with a smile, joke, or by making a fool of himself; he just wanted to make sure your day ended better then it started. Unfortunately, while he was trying to make everyone’s lives better, he was battling his own personal demons that he finally succumbed to. Because of Nick, we have come together to form PG30 to continue the legacy he left behind.

We are just in the beginning stages, but  with your help we hope to reach our ultimate goals of breaking down barriers by providing access and funding for mind and body wellness opportunities through raising scholarship funding (applicable for equipment, team fees, transportation fees, etc.) and building a team-minded community establishment where sports are just the tip of the iceberg for personal wellness. PG30 is incorporated in the state of Virginia and established as a 501c3 non profit organization. Our federal EIN number is 87-1496637

If you have any questions, we would be more than happy to provide you with any information about our goals and how you can help support our work at PG30. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
